What is Wine Trivia at Lovane Boutique Wine Estate?

Lovane’s wine trivia evening is lots and lots of fun. The Wine Trivia evenings have been created to enable you to  meet different South African wine makers and to get to know them and their wines. Your team’s wine knowledge will be tested, but the main ingredient is to have fun and enjoy a scrumptious three course meal, prepared by Lovane’s chefs, Francois and Mark, which were paired to the wines of the guest winemaker and the Lovane Boutique Wines.

Join a team on the night or get six friends together and test your team’s wine knowledge, against the other teams. There will be six rounds, each consisting of six wine questions, which will be asked by the guest wine maker. The questions are prepared by Mariska ofVan Pepper Wines, who is Lovane’s co-ordinator of the Wine Trivia Evenings. The questions are carefully selected to cater for everybody.

Events of the evening

• You arrive at 19h00 and meet the guest wine maker,  over a glass of Lovane’s Chardonnay Bubbly.
• 19h30 the wine trivia starts and the guest wine maker is introduced. The winemaker will then explain the rules of the wine trivia. The wine maker will go through all the questions at the beginning of each round and then the teams get 6 minutes to complete the questions. The papers are collected and marked while the wine maker gives the correct answers. A score board is kept up to date to encourage fears competition.
• After round one the starters and first paired wine will be served.
• This is followed by two rounds of wine trivia.
• The mains course will be served with the second paired wine.
• Followed by two rounds of wine trivia.
• The desserts will be served with the third paired wine.
• The last round of wine trivia.
• Prize giving.
