This wine was made from 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Franc.
The Isikhati 2007 received a Diamond Award at the 2010 Investec Wine Makers Choice Awards, a 4.5 Star rating from the Platter Guide and a Bronze medal at the 2010 Veritas Awards.
The grapes were picked at peak phenolic ripeness.
IN THE CELLAR
The grapes were hand sorted and after crushing vermented in open tanks. The differnent clones were matured separately for a period of 33 months in a combination of French oak barrels and then blended to achieve this smooth wine.
It is best enjoyed with red meats and consentrated dishes, like Oxtail.
