LOVANE WINE COLLECTION
The LovanE Boutique Wine Estate falls under the Coastal Region, District Stellenbosch and the Devon Valley Ward within the South African Wine of origin structure.
Grapes were hand-picked by 10 ladies who sat down around an open bin for the entire day, picking only the best berries off the grape stalks. The yeast was then stirred into the berries and left for a period of three days to start the fermentation process that took place inside the whole berry. Lovely aromas of Raspberry, Cherries and nutmeg follows through to a palate of ripe berries and cedar, well balanced tannins and acidity. The wine was matured for 33 months in barrels, which gives it a soft, well-rounded complexity. Continue reading
The grapes were harvested at the end of January 2015 and crushed before it was cool-fermented in stainless steel tanks. Lovely aromas of green pepper and asparagus on the nose takes you to lasting flavours of green figs and tropical fruits on the palate. This wine is best served chilled and is perfect for drinking now, but will mature well for a further 2 years. Continue reading
Grapes were harvest the last week of February and cooled overnight before stems were removed. This medium bodied wine has beautiful aromas of pear and guava that follows to your pallet which left a well-balanced after taste. This polished blend of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc and 32% Petit Verdot is a great follow up to our 2007 premium blend. This is a full-bodied, oaked wine. The wine spent 33 months in barrels, which gives it a soft, well-rounded complexity. Isikhati, which means ‘future’ in Zulu, has lovely aromas of roasted coffee beans, cardamom, juniper berries, tobacco and herbs on the nose, but on the palette, flavours of blackcurrants and earth linger on the tongue. The grapes were handpicked and sorted to ensure the best quality. This full body wine was matured in french oak barrels for 36 months. Lovely aromas of Cigar box and plum linger on the pallet that follows through to a well-balanced acidity and tannins structure. Ready to drink now, but with great potential for further aging in the bottle for at least 12 years. Continue reading
